A reputable company in the food manufacturing sector is seeking a Maintenance Foreman to lead its mechanical maintenance team at a key production facility. This role is ideal for a technically skilled and safety-conscious leader with a strong background in plant maintenance and team supervision.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric or equivalent
- Trade Test: Fitter or Millwright, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years’ experience as an Artisan (Fitter/Millwright)
- 5+ years in a supervisory or foreman role
- Experience with boilers, pumps, and conveyor systems
- Proficient in planned maintenance systems (e.g., Pragma, SAP PM)
- Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills
- Safety- and quality-focused mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and plant equipment
- Lead and manage a team of artisans and maintenance staff
- Plan and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Conduct inspections and manage the asset register
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for parts and services
- Provide technical support to operations and ensure minimal downtime
- Report incidents and implement corrective actions
