Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Vision

· Define and execute a future-focused technology roadmap aligned with business goals and market opportunities.

· Architect and oversee highly scalable, secure, and resilient platforms supporting millions of transactions.

· Evaluate and implement emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and digital currencies.

· Make key decisions on tech stack, frameworks, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

· Manage and optimise technology budgets while ensuring innovation and operational excellence.

Product Development & Engineering Leadership

· Lead the full software development lifecycle — from concept to deployment.

· Provide hands-on technical leadership, mentorship, and direction across engineering teams.

· Champion Agile and DevOps principles to drive efficiency and quality.

· Oversee API design and integration with external partners and financial systems.

Security, Compliance & Risk

· Implement world-class cybersecurity and data protection standards.

· Ensure compliance with financial regulations (PCI DSS, GDPR/POPIA, AML, KYC, etc.).

· Manage technology risk, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

· Lead and inspire high-performing teams to deliver excellence.

· Collaborate with C-level executives to align technology with business strategy.

· Represent the organisation’s technical vision to external stakeholders, partners, and investors.

Requirements

· 8+ years of experience in software engineering and technology leadership roles.

· Proven success in designing and scaling high-availability, high-volume systems.

· Strong experience with microservices, cloud-native architectures, and API-driven platforms.

· Deep understanding of modern development practices, DevOps, and Agile frameworks.

· Solid knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks in financial services.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
