Role Description:

This is an on-site short-term contract role for an Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner.

The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing primary health care services, focusing on occupational health. This includes assessing and managing workplace injuries and illnesses, promoting and maintaining employee health and safety, conducting health surveillance, and working closely with employers to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

 

Site: Gauteng

Period: 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026

Clinic Hours:  Tuesday            08h00 to 15h00

Wednesday     08h00 to 13h00

Thursday          08h00 to 13h00

Hours per Week: 17 / Hours per Month: 73.67

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

        • Management of the occupational health clinic
        • Management of the screening equipment
        • Occupational health risk assessments
        • Conducting medical examinations
        • IOD management
        • Clinic compliance
        • Clinic administration
        • Generating monthly reports
        • Conducting occupational health or primary health care talks as per the year planner or as required
        • Primary health care and chronic management
        • Incapacity and disability management
        • Dispensing medicine

Candidate Requirements

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

      • Qualified in Occupational Health Nursing (Diploma / Degree)
      • Primary Health or clinical skills qualification will be an advantage
      • Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
      • Qualification / Certificate in Spirometry and Audiometry registered with SASOHN
      • Accredited course in Dispensing
      • 3-5 years experience in the Occupational Health setting
      • Effective Client Liaison Communication
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
      • Presentation skills
      • Computer literacy
      • Professional conduct with good interpersonal skills
      • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
      • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
      • Experience with occupational health regulations and standards
