Job Description
🧊 Cold Store Operations Plan
- Provide input when required.
- Supervise loading/unloading to reduce damage.
- Oversee distribution: receiving, storing, transporting, returns, maintenance, admin.
- Manage admin tasks: vouchers, invoices, reports.
- Control pallets to reduce loss/breakage.
- Monitor delivery turnaround and service standards.
- Assist with quarterly stock takes and stock/customer queries.
- Ensure food safety and quality compliance.
📦 Day-to-Day Operations
- Final paperwork checks with drivers/customers.
- Supervise stacking, picking, staging of products.
- Ensure accurate, timely dispatch of orders.
- Maximize equipment use and safety.
- Validate inbound/outbound product accuracy and condition.
- Rotate stock and conduct cycle counts.
- Maintain cleanliness and attend meetings.
- Update product locator system and space utilization.
- Support transport coordination and Picking Supervisor.
- Monitor truck/product temperatures and cold chain.
- Control shrinkage and submit reports.
🛡️ Health & Safety
- Supervise safety of personnel, equipment, property.
- Maintain cold store security and report injuries (IOD).
- Ensure medical response and attend H&S meetings.
- Submit meeting minutes and enforce OSHA compliance:
- Store tools/equipment properly
- Schedule and supervise cleaning
- Pest control
- Regulatory adherence
- Confirm checklist completion and PPE usage.
- Provide H&S feedback to management.
🍽️ Food Safety Compliance
- Follow food safety guidelines from training/docs.
- Report non-conforming products.
- Monitor temperature requirements for dispatch/receiving.
- Ensure food-safe operations and product integrity.
- Enforce hygiene and PPE standards.
📚 Personal Development
- Meet performance objectives.
- Attend training and complete assessments.
- Sign attendance registers.
