Role: Deputy Director – Project and Proposal Development Location: Pretoria or Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden Salary: R1,059,105.00 per year (all-inclusive) Contract: 3-year fixed-term (renewable based on funding)
🧠 Requirements
- Degree in Natural Sciences or related field (NQF 7); postgrad (NQF 8) is a plus
- 8+ years relevant experience, including 4+ years in management
- Strong skills in project management, proposal development, MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning), and stakeholder engagement
- Excellent writing, strategic thinking, and computer literacy
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
📌 Key Duties
- Lead SANBI’s Green Climate Fund and Adaptation Fund project pipeline
- Develop concept notes and full proposals
- Oversee MEL activities
- Manage multiple climate adaptation projects
