Job Description

Aquila Collection, a Cape Town based safari and hospitality group, is seeking a Digital Marketing Manager to lead the digital arm of our commercial office. This role reports directly to the Commercial Officer and works alongside our Trade Manager and Reservations & Revenue Manager to drive the group’s commercial success.

About the Role

You’ll take the lead in managing a talented in-house digital team that operates like a creative agency – complete with a good coffee machine and an energised, collaborative culture. Our digital funnel supports all portfolio brands, integrating seamlessly with trade relationships and revenue management to deliver both B2B and B2C marketing impact.

As the Digital Marketing Manager, you will set the strategic tone, ensure operational excellence, and maintain the dynamic spirit of the team, while guiding it towards a more streamlined, unified, and growth-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a cohesive digital marketing strategy aligned with the group’s commercial vision.
  • All-Channel Expertise: Oversee campaigns across all digital channels – including SEO, SEM, PPC, social media, direct communications, content marketing, AI-driven marketing, and website optimisation – while integrating with offline marketing initiatives.
  • Team Management: Lead a multidisciplinary team including web development, SEO, PPC, design, content creation, social media, and community management.
  • Brand Oversight: Drive digital marketing initiatives for all Aquila Collection brands, ensuring consistency, creativity, and commercial effectiveness.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and optimise campaign performance, website traffic, lead generation, and online conversion rates.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with trade and revenue managers to ensure alignment between marketing, sales, and booking strategies.
  • Innovation: Identify and implement new tools, trends, and technologies to keep our digital presence ahead of the curve.

What We’re Looking For

  • MUST HAVE proven work experience in the tourism and hospitality sector with a clear understanding of industry trends, distribution channels, and traveller behaviour.
  • MUST HAVE hands-on expertise in all major digital marketing disciplines – including SEO, SEM, PPC, AI applications in marketing, content marketing, direct communications, and social media strategy – supported by offline marketing experience.
  • A confident, energetic leader with a natural ability to inspire and unite a team.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.
