Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and professional Tour Guide to lead domestic and international visitors through Cape Town and surrounding regions. The ideal candidate possesses deep local knowledge, exceptional hospitality skills, and a proven track record of delivering informative, engaging, and safe touring experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead guided tours of key Cape Town and Western Cape attractions (e.g., Table Mountain, Cape Peninsula, Winelands, and historical sites).
  • Provide engaging, accurate commentary on local history, culture, biodiversity, and geography.
  • Ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of all guests throughout the duration of the tour.
  • Safely operate passenger vehicles in accordance with local traffic regulations.
  • Handle itinerary logistics, timing, and coordinate smooth entry at various destinations and tourist attractions.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional tour guiding experience in Cape Town / Western Cape.
  • CATHSSETA Certification: Valid CATHSSETA Tourist Guide qualification.
  • Registration: Must be currently registered with the Provincial Registrar of Tourist Guides (valid tourist guide badge and card).
  • First Aid: Current, valid First Aid Certification (Level 1 or higher).
  • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
  • Driver’s License: Valid South African Code 8 (EB) or higher Driver’s License with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) preferred

Required skills

Deep passion for South African culture, conservation, and tourism Excellent public speaking and interpersonal communication skills. Fluency in English (additional South African or international languages are a strong advantage) Strong problem-solving abilities and high adaptability under changing conditions
