Job Description

Bontebok Limeworks, a lime mine and- processing plant in Bredasdorp, is urgently looking for a suitable candidate with the relevant experience.

They require a highly energetic, self-driven and independent maintenance orientated individual to manage the maintenance aspects of the plant to achieve overall equipment effectiveness and efficiency.

The successful candidate will be hands-on, well-organised with a keen eye for detail, will hold an appropriate technical qualification and must have the relevant experience.

This position is key to the company’s vision and may as such include being involved in other assignments as part of ongoing developmental efforts.

The main responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to:

Implement design technology to maintain and improve performance of plant and equipment;
Staying on top of things through analysis and diagnostics to limit downtime of plant, and scheduling of maintenance to minimise loss of production time;
Onsite technical contractor management;
Plant-related SHEQ Management – ensure adherence and compliance with all relevant acts;
Managing of maintenance team; and
Call-outs, weekend work and extended hours form part of this role.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum requirements:

BEng Mechanical/BTech Mechanical;
Government Certificate of Competence preferred;
Trade Test Qualification will be beneficial in addition to the BEng degree;
Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in a maintenance environment, in a managerial role;
Valid driver’s license;
Good communication skills in Afrikaans and English (written and verbal).
