Job Description

Millwright – Montague Gardens, Cape TownOur client, a leader in the converted paper product manufacturing industry, is seeking a skilled Millwright to ensure the efficient operation of their production machinery. This role involves inspecting, installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems, while working closely with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical faults on manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure peak machine performance.
  • Install, assemble, align, and calibrate machinery and components.
  • Troubleshoot breakdowns quickly to reduce production delays.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and company policies.
  • Support process improvements and assist in training junior technicians.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Proficiency in technical drawings, schematics, and manual interpretation.
  • Knowledge of PLC control systems.
  • Skilled in hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
