Job Description

This role is responsible for managing all design projects from High Level Designs, Permit Drawings and Construction Drawings. This role leads a team of approximately 40 employees that are responsible for the design of Fiber Optic Projects (FTTH).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and monitoring efficiency, progress, and profitability within the Operations team.
  • Creation and implementation of short- and medium-term plans and goals.
  • Monitoring of team and individuals targets.
  • Quarterly meetings with staff on progress vs target and establishing performance improvement plans.
  • Ensuring team has the necessary tools and applications to achieve goals.
  • Establish scope reviews to ensure design requirements and outputs are understood thoroughly, efficiencies are identified and quality is upheld to our customers.
  • Manage and maintain Customer and other stakeholder relationships.
  • Identify and obtain required resources to meet customer expectations.
  • Manage and Control High Level Designs to define the network path ensuring optimization as well as feasibility.
  • Manage complex geospatial and CAD designs that incorporate custom layouts as might be required by the various authorities and customer project management office.
  • Manage and control permit drawings that include Right of Way permits, aerial make ready, and/or Traffic Control Plans for City, County, Railway, DOT, and MOT permits. Understanding of permit requirements and ensuring that these requirements are captured appropriately in the permit package by draftsman.
  • Manage and control construction drawings, including detailed Bill of Materials, splicing matrixes, duct allocation and interact with customer project management office as well as with construction teams.
  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly reporting to Managing Director and Customers on progress, issues, solutions, delays, and process optimization opportunities
  • Ongoing monitoring of revenue generated to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Relationship Management of all business customers and contractors

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R60 000,00 – R75 000,00 per month

Experience:

  • Management: 5 years (Required)
  • Fiber Design (FTTH): 8 years (Required)
  • ArcGIS or QGIS: 3 years (Preferred)
