Minimum requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification
  • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
  • Able to work retail hours Pharmacy

Advantageous

  • Retail/FMCG experience
  • Third additional language
  • SAP and E-Scripting experience
  • Unisolv experience Pharmacy

Main duties

The role includes:

  • Dispensing medication under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
  • Interpreting and processing prescriptions
  • Capturing and checking patient/script information
  • Picking, packing and labelling medication
  • Giving patients instructions about medication
  • Assisting customers at the dispensary, self-medication counter and front shop
  • Processing medical-scheme claims
  • Maintaining customer profiles
  • Managing stock and reporting shortages
  • Assisting with stock takes
  • Following Dis-Chem health, safety and housekeeping procedure
