Our client is looking to employ a Toolmaker based in Ottery

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate Toolroom machinery safely and effectively to produce and maintain moulds and components.
  • Manufacture and repair moulds from technical drawings with high accuracy.
  • Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting on tooling and related equipment.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure production goals and schedules are met.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Mentor apprentices in Tool, Jig & Die making.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety standards.
  • Apply quality principles and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Continuously develop technical skills and contribute to innovation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12 and Trade Test: Tool Jig & Die Maker (MERSETA)
  • Minimum N2 qualification
  • 10-15 years’ experience in manufacturing as a Toolmaker / Plastics experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Toolroom equipment and mould maintenance
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings and fault diagnosis
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to work under pressure
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
