Job Description
Reference:Â Accountant
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to manage the firm’s internal financial operations. You will ensure accurate accounting, reporting, and compliance while supporting management with financial insights. This role covers day-to-day accounting, supplier and customer processing, reporting, budgeting, and administrative oversight.
Core Accounting Functions
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger processing.
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly management accounts.
- Assist with tax calculations and submissions.
- Prepare and review journal entries in line with standards.
- Perform reconciliations of bank, customer, supplier, and balance sheet accounts.
Supplier & Procurement
- Handle purchase orders, supplier invoices, and payment requisitions.
- Maintain supplier master data and age analysis.
- Perform reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Customer & Revenue
- Prepare quotations, follow up, and issue invoices.
- Maintain customer master data and age analysis.
- Distribute statements and monitor outstanding debtors.
- Perform reconciliations and manage annual fee revisions.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Maintain inventory listings for service offerings.
- Prepare work allocation sheets and assist with staff task assignments.
- Handle administration, filing, and internal reporting.
- Support management with ad hoc reporting.
Budgeting, Controls & Analysis
- Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and tracking.
- Analyse financial data and trends, providing insights to management.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard assets.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and policies.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices.
Collaboration
- Work closely with management and internal teams.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to indirectly support client delivery.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in professional services.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reporting, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Advantageous:
- Progress toward CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, or similar qualification.
