Operations & Production Manager – Interim
Leo’s Little Jars | Cape Town | Part-time (3 days/week, pathway to full-time)
Salary: R10 000/month | Available Now

About Us:
Leo’s Little Jars is a fast-growing, women-run artisanal jam brand, proudly handmade in Cape Town. We value sustainability, ethics, and joyful craft—our kitchen is lively, collaborative, and supportive.

The Role:
Step in as the hands-on Operations & Production Manager while our current manager is away. Oversee production, operations, and team leadership with a focus on quality, efficiency, and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production & Quality: Manage daily kitchen operations, ensure food safety, recipe consistency, and support new product development.

  • Operations & Procurement: Source ingredients & supplies, manage inventory, optimize workflow and costs.

  • Team Leadership: Guide and motivate a growing women-led team, provide training, and foster accountability.

  • Client & Brand Engagement: Represent the brand at markets, liaise with suppliers, support founder initiatives.

  • Right Hand to Founder: Bring ideas, solve problems, and step up when needed.

Requirements:

  • Culinary, food production, or hospitality background

  • 3+ years food sector experience

  • Proven leadership of small teams

  • Strong organization, detail-oriented, Excel literate

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

  • Valid driver’s license & own car

Comfortable with high pressure seasonality Detail-oriented, accurate, and comfortable with Excel and digital systems. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Valid driver’s license and own car (essential).
