A senior hospital pharmacist oversees medication safety, manages hospital pharmacy operations, and provides expert clinical care to patients
Job Description
  • Assume reasonable responsibilities in the absence of Pharmacy Manager
  • Participate in stock control and stock take
  • Facilitate the understanding of systems and policies to all pharmacy staff
  • Provide guidance and consultation regarding pharmaceutical care
  • Keep abreast of current trends and practices in pharmaceutical care
  • Submit annual required CPDs to SAPC
  • Register as a tutor for both interns and pharmacist’s assistants with SAPC
  • Attend to emergency call-outs when required
  • Accurate and safe dispensing to both retail and hospital patients
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of all aspects related to GPP
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of a B. Pharm Degree
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role (Senior Pharmacist)
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A pleasant disposition and excellent interpersonal/communications skills are vital
  • Contribute actively to the multidisciplinary team
